Medically Supervised Treatment

Medical Programs

Obesity can cause many related health problems and diseases that may require medical attention. Our physicians recognize these conditions and monitor changes in your health as your weight changes. On our safe, rapid weight loss programs, patients typically lose a significant amount of weight quickly.  Therefore, we require that patients are medically supervised to reduce health risks and to adjust the program, as necessary.

All of our medical programs include lifestyle and/or behavioral education in the form of group classes or on a one-on-one basis to educate and provide you with the knowledge and tools necessary for you to lose weight and keep it off. Our counselors and psychologist will provide insights and knowledge for you to make realistic lifestyle changes that can and will last a lifetime. Our 24-week rotation of classes includes the following topics: Emotional Eating, Building Support, Making your Home Healthy, Exercise Techniques, Stress Management, and Food Label Reading.

Whether your goal is to lose 30 or 100 pounds, we ensure balanced nutrition throughout your program. A registered dietitian for one-on-one meal planning and sound nutrition advice sees every medical patient at least twice during a program. Although some programs use some grocery store food, most of our medical programs include a rapid weight loss phase of consuming only shake and bar supplements for a period. Regardless of what you choose, a dietitian will help you.

Unlike most programs, St. John Weight Loss medical programs also incorporate personal exercise training. We offer a full exercise facility and individual training with our exercise specialists who will teach you safe and effective exercise techniques. Our exercise specialist will meet with you multiple times throughout your program and help you devise an exercise routine that meets your personal needs.

Even though taking the weight off isn’t always easy, keeping it off is often tougher. That is why all of our programs incorporate a lifetime of support to help you maintain your success. After completeing a program, participants can keep coming for ongoing group support and continued education at zero additional expense.
